Pakistan is contemplating issuing e-visas to facilitate genuine investors and visitors, said Federal Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal.
On Monday while addressing the Pakistani community in Pakistan High Commission in London, the Federal Minister said that they are in consultation with the foreign office and will soon issue e-visas to the visitors and investors entering in Pakistan.
The e-visa system will provide the travels with ease and comfort as they won’t have to visit the embassy in person. All the data is collected electronically through the government’s website and the user can make the relevant payments through their debit or credit cards.
This new system will also help speed up the visa process for those visiting Pakistan. We are not yet sure whether it applies to visa on arrival as well or simply the ones obtained before visiting the country. Last year, the government also banned visa on arrival in Pakistan so its highly unlikely that we can see the e-visas on arrival anytime soon.
Thanks to CPEC, Pakistan is one of the prime destinations for investment and with the betterment of law and order situation, it can soon become a tourist destination for people around the world.
