The government has revamped the Pakistan Post in the country to tackle the expensive services provided by private courier and money transfer services.

The decision has been made in accordance with the guidelines of PM Imran Khan to ensure that people start using national courier service again. Timely and rapid service has been vowed by the Pakistan Post where they are challenging the monopoly of private companies by providing a much affordable option.

Same day delivery is promised by the Pakistan Post if they receive the parcel before 1 pm which is quite commendable and competitive in comparison with the private sector. Moreover, they have also initiated a dedicated service for corporate clients.

Prices are as follow:

  • Rs. 150 for the first 500 grams.
  • Rs. 50 for every extra 500 grams.

SMS will also be generated confirming the booking of the parcel and again at the time of successful delivery. The service has been started from the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi while it will soon commence in other parts of the country.

State minister for communication, Murad Saeed, while inaugurating the service said that citizens will also be provided with Electronic Money Order System(EMO) where they will be able to receive up to Rs. 50,000 at their doorstep. It is worth noting here that no private company is providing such facility in the country.

The inauguration of such services by Pakistan Post will not only benefit the institution but will also provide growth to the national exchequer.
