State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) have launched a new online tax collection system where the taxpayers will be able to pay taxes and duties using ATMs and online banking.
The online system is now live and Pakistanis can pay their federal taxes including income tax, sales tax, customs duty and federal excise duty with convenience at any time, seven days a week.
The delivery channels for the online tax collection system are:
- Online banking
- Phone banking
- Contact centers
The system is based on the 1Link Biller module, whereby FBR has been added as one of the Billers on the banks’ Bill Payment page.
How You Can Pay Taxes and Duties Online
Want to pay taxes and duties without wasting your time in a queue at any physical branch of a bank? Here’s how you can use the new online system:
- Generate PSID (payment slip ID) by filling tax and customs duty payment details in FBR (IRIS) and Customs (WeBOC)
- Use the generated PSID to access tax/duty payment details on the banks’ webpage or ATM
- The taxpayer or their agent can then transfer the due credit to the respective government account in SBP
As you can see above, the whole process is online and fully automated, meaning the taxpayer can simply pay taxes and duties from the comfort of their own homes.
