According to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), no Pakistani has been found involved in child pornography on the dark web.

FIA launched an investigation of different cases after receiving a tip-off from the Interpol and multiple requests from different foreign embassies and has received no complaints from any Pakistani national regarding the registered cases or inquiries concerning child pornography, according to the sources of Express Tribune,

Last month, Following the case of Zainab, for the very first time in the history of Pakistan, FIA has constituted a two-member team to deal with cases pertaining to child sexual abuse and pornography issues in the country.

The authorities acting on a tip from Interpol also arrested a man from Jhang involved in child pornography. Reportedly, there is less than 1% of pornographic content on the internet involving Pakistani child.

Recently, the authorities also revealed that Punjab has the highest child pornography cases in Pakistan which is rather a shocking discovery and a failure on the part of the law and order system.

Child pornography punishment was included in the Pakistan penal code in 2016 after the Kasur incident of 2015 where hundreds of children were allegedly used for making pornographic videos. Even though the government introduced a law, it is rather lax if one considers the heinous nature of the crime.
