Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017’s final is nowadays the talk of the town, no one can escape the views and opinions about the oncoming final match set to take place in Lahore. While people have been rushing to buy PSL final tickets online or through Punjab Bank, they are unaware of the fact that they are being looted.
According to City 42, the price of the PSL final tickets has seen an increase of more than hundred percent. The general enclosure ticket, which is normally available for PKR 50 is being sold for PKR 500 whereas the ticket worth PKR 1500 is being sold for PKR 12,000.
The number are quite shocking especially if you consider the statements made by Shehryar Khan, Chairman PCB and Najam Sethi, Chairman PSL, claiming to bring Pakistan together through bringing the teams home for a final match. But it looks like the Red Alert on the Qaddafi hasn’t stopped the anyone from earning at the expense of people’s safety.
Even with the high prices, the citizens have been rushing to buy PSL final tickets. Wasim Akram, Imran Khan and Waqar Younis enclosures whose ticket costs around PKR 12,000 have been completely sold out online, so come security threats or not people will be watching the match live in the stadium.
In Pakistan, in just one month we have seen more than 90 fatalities as a result of a new wave of terrorism while a lot more have been injured. In this situation, it was uncertain whether PSL final will take place in Lahore but it was later decided that the final match will be played in the country.
The security has been beefed up in the city. Haider Ashraf, DG operations revealed the spectators will be checked at four different points before they will be allowed to enter Qaddafi Stadium. Also, the CNIC cards of everyone will be checked and verified using the biometric identification meaning teenagers would require a guardian to watch the match in the stadium.
Also, Nashtar Park Complex and marriage halls around the stadium will be shut down from today and will remain closed until after the match. With the fragile security situation of the country, many have criticized the government’s decision of organizing such a massive public. Imran Khan termed this decision madness and now foreign players of Quetta Gladiators, the finalist team, have refused to travel to Pakistan.
