Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has finally become a permanent member of Washington Accord ensuring the mobility of Pakistani engineers across the globe. In simple words, the engineering degree granted by PEC would be accepted worldwide, enabling the students to find better job opportunities abroad.
In 2011, Pakistan became a provisional member of the Washington Accord and after bringing its standards at par with the international ones, it has finally become an official member.
This new relationship doesn’t just help out the graduates looking for employment but also is beneficial for students who want to pursue the related studies abroad.
As Pakistan is now a member of Washington Accord, the students won’t have to take any additional tests at the time of applying for graduate or post-graduate courses.
The Washington Accord is an agreement signed by registered bodies of various countries accrediting academic engineering programs at the university level, leading to the practice of engineering at the full professional level.
This agreement demands that the quality of engineering education obtained belonging to the signatory countries should be recognized by the others. With this new Pakistani engineers can easily get recognition across the globe especially in the United States and European countries.
