The opening of first female e-Rozgaar Center at Government College Women University, Faisalabad is scheduled on Friday, May 26, 2017. The founding Vice Chancellor of Information Technology University (ITU), Advisor to the Chief Minister Punjab and Chairman PITB will inaugurate the first female Centre. It’s a joint project of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Youth Affairs, Sports, Archeology & Tourism (YASAT). First male e-Rozgaar Center was recently opened at the University of Gujrat, main Campus Gujrat.
Under e-Rozgaar PITB will establish 40 similar centers in the vicinity of 11 Universities of the Punjab for training 10,000 graduates for freelancing, enabling them to generate self-employment in technical, non-technical and creative areas to earn through online freelancing for various sites around the globe. Similar centers in the first instance are being established at Lahore, Taxila and Wah Cantt soon.
Since the concept and awareness of earning through the internet and taking freelancing as a serious profession are very new in the smaller cities of Punjab, the Program has taken upon itself to guide and groom graduates from a variety of backgrounds. The training will enable the youth to generate income approximately from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 80,000 per month while working from home.
