PTI Government to Launch Online Complaint Cell in Punjab

To provide timely justice by resolving the issues of general public, Punjab Government has started working to establish an online complaint cell.

The complaint cell will have a dedicated call center and a website. The decision is made to reach people at their doorstep and digitize system to eliminate the communication gap between higher authorities and a layman with the help of technology.

Moreover, the provincial government will make sure to review the helpline progress on a timely basis and will try to assist the general public by utilizing all possible means.

The complainant will be provided with the formal number of his/her complaint which can be used for the further procedure. Citizens will be able to register their complaints on the website from their computers as well as mobile phones. However, the government did not provide any detail regarding the time for a complaint to be processed.

Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, Secretary planning and development board and other senior government officials have been assigned to work on the complaint cell and devise a strategy to focus on providing a simple and straightforward mechanism.

Note that the previous government of PMLN had also implemented a similar policy, providing an online website for registering complaints under the direct supervision of then Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif, but unfortunately ordinary citizens were not provided with any remarkable assistance.

Although the PTI Punjab government has vowed to provide justice to people in accordance with their party’s name and manifesto, the productivity of their complaint cell remains to be seen.
