cost cutting pti government

As the PTI government takes charge of the affairs, the drive has started to bring down unnecessary expenditures in all government departments.

After the first and memorable address to the nation by Prime Minister Imran Khan in which he vowed to minus all extra burden on the national kitty, the new directions have started to reach all government departments.

The latest circular to the ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication enforces restrictions to optimize the day-to-day business activities by consuming lesser resources.

The document that highlights “Strict Compliance“, issued by the Finance division, puts a ban on serving dinner, lunches, and high tea during official meetings along with the use of 0.5 litre bottled water. However, it suggests making use of coffee or tea.

The circular also forbids to use Air Conditioners at offices before 11 AM and after that, it should be run at 26 degrees. However, Air conditioners will be turned off throughout the ministry w.e.f 15th of September 2018.

In order to use paper in a minimum way, the circular directs to ensure double-sided printing as well as minimal line spacing in preparation of cases on note sheets and drafts.

Officials have been directed to bring down the expenditure on TA/DA, repair of transportation, fuel, and lighting to the minimum. Further, it will be the responsibility of the office support staff to turn off the lighting fixtures after official hours.

In the first cabinet meeting of PTI government on August 20, the Prime Minister has already banned the out-of-country medical treatments of all government officials to avoid the extra burden on the national exchequer.
