Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) is going to include more content for children in its various programs, reports The Express Tribune.
Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage, Marriyum Aurangzeb has directed the national broadcaster to create special content for kids on all of its channels.
Pakistan till now has no special channel that airs exclusive content for children. As we previously reported, the state-owned PTV is considering converting one of its channels for providing exclusive content for kids.
Ms. Aurangzeb on Wednesday chaired a consultative meeting to overlook the launch of an entertainment channel for children. She said; “A separate entertainment channel for children is the need of the hour because no work has been done so far for children,” she said.”
She has also directed the TV channel to submit a detailed plan highlighting the complete timeline for embedding the content fo kids in its various channels.
PTV management has been asked to utilize all necessary resources to create quality content for children that would symbolize the cultural values and norms.
The rebranded TV channel used to captivate the millennials when it used to feature programs Ali Laila, Zanbeel, Bhoot Bangla, Koshish, Aali Par Kya Guzri, Ainak wala Jin etc. Soon the kids of this generation would also get a dedicated channel to entertain and educate them at the same time.
