We often see massive traffic on the roads, and it becomes tough for us to reach our destination. But now, the government of Punjab is all set to improve the traffic system of Lahore and other major cities of the province.
According to the details, under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the steering committee for the betterment of the traffic system met for the second time.
In the meeting, the CM said that the quality of the traffic management system would be enhanced. He stated that the road infrastructure had been upgraded at the cost of millions of rupees and the authorities will unveil a plan in the next few days to improve the quality of the traffic system.
In the meeting, funds of Rs. 100 million were also approved for upgrading the traffic system while the CM said that the authorities are taking steps to make the traffic education a part of the syllabus.
A few months ago, the traffic police decided to seal the illegal driving schools in Lahore and to lodge a FIR against the owners of the driving schools. Due to intense competition in the market, there are schools which claim to teach driving in just ten days which is just ridiculous.
Back in April, the government decided to strengthen the traffic rules by increasing the fines for not following the traffic rules.
More than 40 rickshaw parking stands were also recently established in the city for the improvement in the traffic flow and making the people follow the traffic lanes.
