While the government of Punjab ensured that the PSL final event remains peaceful, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) kept the whole stadium connected through Punjab Wi-Fi.
Under the Digital Punjab Program, the provincial government has established around 250 Wi-Fi hotspots across Lahore. The project is yet to be officially inaugurated but last night the spectators at the Gaddafi Stadium saw first hand how the facility can help them stay connected.
Dr. Umar Saif, Chairman of the Punjab IT Board took it to twitter and revealed that Punjab Wi-Fi witnessed around 7,945 users throughout the PSL Final match.

Under the initiative of Digital Punjab, the provincial government also looks to establish free Wi-Fi service in more than 200 WiFi hotspots in Multan and Rawalpindi.
Recently, many people criticized the service saying that it doesn’t work. Dr. Umar Saif responded through twitter revealing that the sign reading Punjab Wi-Fi Hotspot outside a building means that a person can get the Wi-Fi coverage in the public areas of that building like waiting areas of park, hospital, metro stations, railway stations etc.
