realme Phones Have a Great Potential in Pakistan: Advance Telecom CEO

realme is the second-largest phone seller in the Indian market, with a nearly 15% market share. The phone maker hopes for a similar response in Pakistan.

Chinese smartphone maker realme has entered into a partnership with Advance Telecom for handset distribution in the Pakistan market.

Advance Telecom has become realme’s fourth distributor in the country with a promise to further enhance realme’s footprint in the country.

The brand already works with Airlink Communications, M&P, and United Mobile, and it hopes the new business partner will help push the sales up in the local market.

Advance Telecom is an old player working in the smartphone industry since 2002. It already works with smartphone brands like Tecno, Infinix, itel, and Nokia.

While talking with the More News about what convinced Advance Telecom to bring realme onboard, the CEO Rizwan Majeed said, “The smartphone market is expanding in Pakistan, and it is likely to reach 2 million phones a month in the next year”.

“realme’s phones are among the top quality devices with complaint ratio near NIL, their software is stable, and the brand has a lot of potential in Pakistan,” he added.

realme is a popular brand in India, where it battles with top position holders Xiaomi and Samsung. In October 2021, realme claimed the number two position in India, while it stood at number three in Q1 of 2022.

The brand is committed to grabbing a decent market share in the upcoming months in Pakistan.

“realme can close the year with 1 million handsets in 2022“.

However, Rizwan doesn’t rule out the need for solid marketing support to increase local demand.

“We hope to get strong marketing support from the company,” he added.

Although realme covers a vast portfolio in the budget and mid-range segment, affordable phones are likely to generate more numbers in Pakistan.

“realme’s C series is popular and affordable as well. I believe 75% of sales will come in the Rs. 17,000 to Rs. 25,000 price bracket,” Rizwan anticipated.

Syed Mashood Hassan, Country Director, realme Pakistan foresees a fruitful partnership with Advance Telecom.

“realme Pakistan wishes to have a strong and fruitful partnership with Advance Telecom, one of our four distributors in the country. This shows that Pakistan is a significant market for realme, and our league of distributors underscores the popularity of realme in the country,” Mashood commented.

To a question about which price segment realme will focus on more in 2022, Mashood said, “realme brings smartphones across several price ranges. Our C Series and Narzo Series are spread across the entry-level and mid-range segments, while the Number Series is extremely popular in the mid-range to high-end segment. Our GT Series also captures a sizeable spot in the high-end price segment. Therefore, throughout 2022, the market will receive multiple smartphones from realme at various price points.”

Mashood further said, “We recently launched the realme 9i and realme 9 Pro+ in the mid-range price segment. Next up, we have the realme C35 at a lower price point.”
