Salman Khan to compete Oppo, Xiaomi with own smartphone brand

After his clothing brand ‘Being Human’, Bollywood veteran actor Salman Khan is planning to release smartphones. According to reports, the name ‘BeingSmart’ has been registered and the production of phones will start soon.

The phones will cost less than $300 as Salman Khan is looking to target the midde and entry level smartphone market. A manufacturing plant in China has also been selected which is strange as comapnies with a stronghold in China are setting up plants in India.

The operational management team of this venture will be headed by experienced professionals who have worked with reputed global and local brands such as Samsung and Micromax.

The phones will initially be available at Being Human stores and will starting at electronic stores later. BeingSmart intends to compete with companies like Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi which are all established brands.

It is also reported that Salman Khan planned an entry in the smartphone industry two years ago but things didn’t quite pan out as he liked. Salman also released an app named ‘BeingInTouch’ on his 51st birthday which gives fans access to updates from Salman Khan’s social media accounts and a lot more.
