Samsung recently rolled out the Android Oreo update for its last year’s flagship device Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus which after the initial hiccup didn’t cause any trouble. Now the company is seemingly focusing on Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge as according to Samsung-run Turkish website, the new update for 2016’s flagship devices will come on May 18.
Previously, the site mentioned that Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will get the latest OS by 13th April but it has updated the schedule for the Oreo update. The Galaxy A3 (2017), A5 (2017), and A7 (2017) which were supposed to get Android Oreo by 25th May will start receiving it by 1st June. The Galaxy Note 8 users have also reported to receiving the new update since mid-March.
Now we’d like to make it clear that the date for Oreo release doesn’t stay the same for all countries but eventually, the company rolls it out to all its devices across the globe where some people have to wait for it more than the others.
Samsung has already started off 2018 with the launch of Galaxy S9 and S9+ and in the coming months will unveil its new phablet, Galaxy Note 9 for the users. The new devices were launched in Pakistan last month.
