Not a long ago, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had ordered to government to adopt Urdu as the official language of Pakistan. Since then, a lot of the government organizations are introducing the Urdu versions of their websites. Recently, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has launched its website both in Urdu and English language.
As per details, in continuation of its efforts to develop a modern and efficient corporate sector in the country, the SECP has introduced a new website in Pakistan; available both in English and Urdu languages.
The new website has a very user-friendly design and smooth interface. It features enhanced rich content for the visitors.
The SECP website has extensive content related to the formation of a new company. It also features the licensing regime for profit organizations. Moreover, the website has the data of the capital markets, insurance and non-banking financial companies, latest market data and information. Other than this, it has the complete range of laws, rules, regulations that the SECP governs.
Besides, a visitor can easily see the most recent notifications, circulars, directives enforcement action and orders of the Appellate Bench on the website.
“We believe that this new site will allow our visitors to have a very informative experience.” said the SECP Chairman Zafar Hijazi.
Other features of SECP Website
The visitors of the SECP website can lodge complaints online. They can also search or verify registered companies. The visitors can log into the SECP’s eService, Virtual One Stop Shop (VOSS) and Jamapunji portal.
The bilingual SECP website is by its policy to implement Urdu as its official language. The Urdu section of the site provides comprehensive information on company formation, compliance requirements, licensing procedures and Urdu versions of laws, rules, regulations, and guidebooks.
It is worth mentioning here that the SECP has also translated all of its laws in urdu, except the Companies Ordinance 1984.

Earlier, The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) had launched the Urdu version of its official website to facilitate the people and industries. In fact, various public departments are trying to increase their reach to wider (Urdu speaking).
Not only local sites are introducing their Urdu versions, but the leading social network and apps like Instagram have added the Urdu language in their supported languages.
