Cheif Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formed a Facebook group to monitor the day to day activities of Punjab Police. The officers have been ordered to update the group with daily performance updates.
Punjab, under the leadership of CM Shehbaz Sharif, has been looking to modernize many services and the step of monitoring police with help of technology is the latest. According to reports, CM Punjab Shehbaz Sharif has ordered to create a special Facebook account and all Regional Police Officers, City Police Officers and Divisional Police Officers have been directed to befriend that Facebook account.
Officers will update about daily performance with videos and pictures which will then be used to portray a positive image of Punjab Police. CM Punjab Shehbaz Sharif will monitor the account himself.
Other impressive initiatives taken by the Punjab Government include the Punjab Free WiFi service. The Punjab Free WiFi program aims to expand to other cities after Lahore and installing more than 200 WiFi hotspots which will be able to provide service to over 160,000 users.
Moreover, the Punjab Government also introduced the e-rozgaar program in March. The e-rozgaar program aims to continue the trend of digitalizing Punjab by providing quality training to freelancers, so the youth can create opportunities for themselves and others.
