In continuation of its efforts to improve the education sector, and as part of the -governance, the government of Sindh has introduced a new kind of SMS service. Sindh government has launched Ilmi SMS service to address the complaints in the education sector.
Ilmi SMS service is an SMS-based complaint system which helps the students, teachers, and parents to register any complaint about any education-related matter. If a student is having any kind of difficulty in understanding the lessons, homework etc., [s]he can easily ask for assistance by using the new SMS service.
If a student or teacher faces any kind of health issue in the school, like water problems, etc., he/she can also use this service to register the complaint.
To use Ilmi SMS service, all you need to do is go to the write message option of your mobile phone, type your message, and send this text to 8398. Sending an SMS at 8398 will charge Rs. 5+tax.
All the complaints are sent to the education department of Sindh and are displayed on a screen in the office of education secretary, who himself monitors all the complaints. The complaint is then forwarded to the relevant office and the system automatically checks if the problem is being redressed or not.
The service was reviewed at a high-level meeting, which was held under the leadership of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to review the improvements in the education sector.
On this occasion, the chief minister stated, “it is the primary duty of Sindh government to provide the basic education to every child of the province including the provision of basic facilities in the educational institutions.”
Sindh Education Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar told the participants that the government is very much sincere in bringing betterment in the education sector.
