Tecno is another Chinese mobile phone manufacturing company that is entering Pakistani handset market in the coming days. According to reports, Tecno will introduce six mobile phone models in the first phase.
With a blend of smartphones and feature phones, It might be an interesting addition in the current handset market scenario where QMobile and Nokia rule feature phone segment, whereas; the smartphone segment is primarily occupied by Samsung, QMobile, Huawei and Oppo
Tecno has various series including Phantom, Boom, Feature Phones, and Tablets. Phantom 6 and Phantom 6+ are among the six models that this new Chinese player will likely be introducing after a launch event that is also expected in the coming days (April 3rd week).
Phantom 6 which might be available for 25 to 30 K boasts Android 6.0 and 2 GHz Octa-core processor coupled with 13 MP rear and 8 MP front camera. The phone has a 3GB of RAM and 2700 mAh battery.
However, Phantom 6 Plus could be priced above 35 K for a fantastic 21 MP rear camera, 4 GB RAM, and huge 4050 mAh battery.
The company recently launched Camon CX at Mobile World Congress and is believed to be a flagship phone and a part of series ‘Camon’ that worked well for the company in the African market where Tecno leads already in various countries. A company official hinted that Camon CX wouldn’t be a part of the launch in Pakistan. However, it could land at a later stage.
The company was founded in 2006 in HongKong. It stopped doing business in Asia in an effort to focus more on Africa region where it gave a tough time to brands like Apple and Samsung.
In Pakistan, Tecno is coming with the warranty of United Mobile, an old distribution company from the times of Nokia in Pakistan. Although United hasn’t been active lately with no mobile handset brand under the belt, it would be interesting to see it selling Tecno with similar old muscle.
