On its eve of Customer First Day, Telenor has launched a campaign to make children and parents aware of the Cyber Bullying. To educate and guide the parents about digital bullying, 2800 Telenor Employees have approached the target community on Customer First Day which Telenor is celebrating for five consecutive years.

On this occasion the C.E.O of Telenor Group, Sigve Brekke highlighted the importance of leaning ethics for behaving in a digital world. He expressed his concerned as, “Digital communication and internet access create enormous opportunities for people, business and society. However, the internet does not only connect people with good intentions and this is unfortunately a reality that children can face. We believe it’s important to educate and raise awareness early on so that young people can make wise online choices and be safe online. As a global mobile and Internet provider, it is also our responsibility to address this.”

The C.E.O of Telenor Pakistan, Wahab Khan, also expressed his opinion on this occasion. He said, “The purpose of Customer First Day is to galvanize the organization to design and deliver meaningful and delightful experiences, which the customers want to have perpetually. As Youth makes up a huge segment of our users, we are dedicating this year’s Customer First Day to our commitment to make Youth’s digital interactions through our products and channels safe and void of the bullying phenomenon,”

Be Smart-Use Heart

The Telenor dedicated its annual day to spread awareness about the safe internet use. As part of the campaign, named as Be Smart- Use Heart, Telenor 2800 employees reached out the children and parents in seven regions of the Pakistan. The company employees went to schools and other such institutes and talked to the audience about importance of learning the right use of internet. The campaign also reflects the company‘s commitment to make the youth aware of interacting the online world in a safe and sound manner.

Guidelines for parents and children

Telenor has also compiled the guidelines aimed at teaching the children about safe internet interaction. These guidelines are also available on official website of Telenor. These also include a parenting guide on how to talk with the kids about right internet usage and online security. This is useful for parents who want their children to be responsible user of the digital world.
