TEVTA to establish Pakistan’s First Vocational Training University

Punjab to soon have a proper institution to provide higher education regarding vocational skills. Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) in collaboration with Chinese Tianjin University of Technical Education (TUTE) will soon introduce University of Technical and Vocational Education (UTVE).

An agreement has been signed between Irfan Qaisar Sheikh, the Chairperson of TEVTA and Liu Xin, the President of TUTE, in Tianjin for the establishment of the said university.

Courses to be Offered at UTVE

The new Vocational Training University will offer the following non-degree courses:

  • Information technology
  • Automobile
  • Electronics
  • Mechanical mechatronics
  • Management Science
  • Advanced Chinese language
  • Pedagogical training
  • 3D printing technology

According to the agreement, the Chinese University will share its experience with TEVTA for the establishment of the vocational university in Pakistan.

It will also help the authority with the curricula and discipline set-up, development of core courses, curricula development, and revision, construction of laboratories and the training of teachers.

This new university is the step in the right direction when it comes to developing vocational training as a field of education.

Previously, the authority has been involved with providing various programs to help instill the vocational training among the Pakistani youth. It offers Chinese Language Course to help people better in procuring better jobs and avail various opportunities provided by CPEC projects.
