In Pakistan, the auto makers for years have charged premium prices but have always managed to put the lives of their consumers at risk by ignoring the various security features.
Now, slowly companies are realizing their responsibility, most likely because of the fear of the introduction of foreign companies that plan to manufacture their cars in Pakistan.
Suzuki recently introduced two SRS airbags in its new 1000cc Cultus in Pakistan and now Indus Motors is also integrating various safety features in Toyota Corolla.
Apart from the exterior and interior updates, the Toyota Corolla will feature:
- Dual SRS bags
- Front Seatbelts: 3-Point ELR with Pretensioner and Force Limiter
- GOA Body with Reinforcement
- ISOFIX Child Seat Anchors
In March, the company concerned over the braking issues in its vehicles recalled over 9,000 different variants of its flagship model, Toyota Corolla, 2016-17.
To promote the safety features of Toyota Corolla, the company organized a campaign last month in Karachi to introduce THUMS- Total Human Model For Safety which is an advanced crash dummy developed by Toyota that helps analyze, in detail, the impact to vital organs such as the heart, lungs, and liver during a simulated crash.
Reportedly, the company is planning to launch the facelift of Toyota Corolla in August this year which will be more secure than its previous models. The company will also introduce these features in its other models.
