Toyota Indus is going to launch Corolla XLi with 4-speed automatic Transmission, Pakwheels reports. It will be the first XLi that is going to feature an automatic gearbox.
Other than the automatic transmission and ECO meter, the XLi A/T will come with the following features:
- Dual SRS Airbags
- LED Clearance Lamps
- Side-View Mirror with Turn Signals
The news came as a surprise because there were rumors that Toyota IMC might discontinue the production of Corolla XLi and GLi, the sedans with 1.3 L engine but it looks like these hotcakes are going to stay for at least a couple of more years.
Earlier Honda has also announced that they are not planning to launch 1200cc hatchback Honda Brio, Now it looks like Toyota is also not in a mood of giving something new and better to the consumers.
It is expected now that they will launch this car with a price tag of over 2 million rupees, making it out of reach for many customers as Honda Aspire Automatic variant has a much lower price. With the new XLi, now Toyota is having all models available in manual and AT variant.
It is worth noting that Toyota Indus has already an automatic variant for its Corolla GLi, a car with a minute difference compared to XLi.
Unfortunately, Pakistan is one of those only countries which still receive or forced to drive a 1.3-litre sedan of Toyota by using almost the same small engine of Vitz/Yaris, so it’s surely will be an underpowered option considering the auto transmission variant.
The booking can be made from Monday, 6th August 2018. We will be featuring the launch and will come up with full specifications of the car and its review, so stay tuned and do tell us your views about Toyota’s move in the comments section.
