Hate it when your car breaks down, and there is no auto workshop in sight? Well, people in Lahore don’t have to worry about this anymore as City Traffic Police (CTP) has introduced a mobile workshop for citizens.
Traffic Police have launched a free of cost mobile workshop that can help the broken down cars on the model roads. Through this service, the police aim to help the motorists in case their vehicles stop working due to any technical fault.
In the case of car trouble, a person can call 1915 helpline from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm to ask for assistance. According to Traffic Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Ahmad Mobin, the mobile workshop would be stationed near Siddique Trade Centre, and they also plan to expand its operations in other parts of the city.
The mobile workshop van has been equipped with all necessary tools and equipment including; an air tank, a welding plant, a battery charger and a steel cutter. A mechanic and an electrician would also escort the van to facilitate the citizens. The van will also transfer broken down vehicles to other places.
Last year, Traffic Police in Faisalabad introduced a mobile application where citizens can access to all the services with just a simple touch.
