Chief Commercial Officer of Ufone, Mr. Ashar Yaqub has decided to move on in his career. He hasn’t spoken mind yet about the next journey, but the gentleman has officially informed the company about his decision to say goodbye.
Ashar Yaqub had joined Ufone in December 2013 after having worked with the company twice earlier in his career. In the past, he had worked with the company in the capacity of Chief Marketing Officer and Manager Marketing. Apart from Ufone, he has also performed as CEO IBEX Group of Companies and CCO of Banglalink – a Vimpelcom company in Bangladesh.
He has a strong track record of delivering change across the business and has the strategic vision, commercial experience and leadership skills that are essential to drive the business forward and improve earnings growth.
During his latest stint at Ufone as the CCO, Ufone achieved a great milestone in the shape of the launch of Ufone Super Card, which is regarded as one of the major innovations in the telecom arena in Pakistan with millions of customers.
Ufone also launched its 3G services during Asher Yaqub Khan’s tenure and has expanded to more than 200 cities.
Ufone recently had its new CEO & President after Mr. Abdul Aziz stepped down.
Ufone is a number four cellular operator in Pakistan with more than 20 million subscribers on the network.
