Want to visit USA? Don’t Write Against the Country on Social Media

US visa social media

Do you dream of acquiring a US visa, well then you need to go on a social media cleanse as under new Trump’s policies, immigration officials can comb through your social media profiles.

A new visa application form requests social media handles from various applicants but they aren’t required to submit their passwords, reports PC Magazine.

According to Reuters, the new questionnaire asks for the asks for social media handles for the last five years and biographical information going back 15 years. Meaning all your tweets or posts bashing the USA suddenly have come to bite you.

This new security protocol is set in place to better screen out the bad guys because apparently, the terrorists have marked their place of work on social media as “the destruction of infidels” and their education as “School of Terrorism.”

In the past five years, one has encountered various mood swings where one has to make the world know about their everyday troubles through sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr etc. and one can hardly remember all the posts and platforms they used for the said purpose.

This new security check thus can affect the way we express ourselves freely and can create biasedness among the immigration officials. Previously, the Trump administration placed a laptop ban on flights coming from various Muslim countries of the world.
