Vivo Apex, the concept smartphone that made quite some waves at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 will be available to the public after all as the company confirmed its mid-2018 production.
Vivo was originally marketing the smartphone as just a concept phone but apparently, it has changed its mind and now it has confirmed that the smartphone will be available for sale to the general public.
The device will go into mass-production at some point during mid-2018 so it will be probably launched in either late 2018 or early 2019
Vivo Apex can surely be considered as a breakthrough in the smartphone design as it offers an alternative to the adoption of iPhone X’s controversial notch and features a 91% screen-to-body ratio, which is one of the highest screen-to-body ratios in the handset industry.
To provide a complete full-screen display, the company has placed a retractable front camera and replaced the earpiece with Screen Sound Casting technology that delivers vibrations via the display to deliver sound and act as the earpiece as well as the loudspeaker.
Vivo Apex will also come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and a big 6 inches OLED screen but the rest of the specs have not yet been disclosed by the company yet so we’ll just have to wait and see.
If Vivo Apex will hit the shelves, it will easily become one of the enthralling devices of the season.
