WhatsApp Group call (Voice and Video) feature officially arrive on the arena. One of the most used messaging applications has decided to improve the services it offers since 2014 and 2016 to include the possibility of connecting by voice or video with up to four people at a time.

They have been beta testing this feature for quite some time, but now the new feature is available with the latest update for iOS and Android.

How Can You Initiate a Video or Voice Group Call?

  1. Start a video or voice call with a user.
  2. Once running, a button appears at the top right of the screen to add participants to the conversation, Tap it.
  3. You can add up to 4 users by tapping the same icon.

Encrypted Calls

One of the main concerns of users since the latest scandals of Facebook in using personal data is security and privacy. WhatsApp has already introduced a “Forwarded Message” label feature. It is for the same reason that WhatsApp has ensured that calls are “always encrypted from end to end”.

In addition, Company adds that they have designed the service to work with different internet connections around the world. It is worth noting that WhatsApp users make over 2 billion minutes of calls and video calls per day.

As the company mentions, “for a couple of years now, our users have enjoyed being able to make calls and video calls through WhatsApp, we are pleased to announce that from  today it will also be possible to make group calls and video calls on WhatsApp.”

Through updates like this, WhatsApp tries to approach its competitors, such as Skype, although not in numbers, where WhatsApp is the king with 1.5 billion monthly users, but in functions.

The new version of WhatsApp that enables WhatsApp Group call for up to 4 people is now available in the App Store and Google Play Store.
