According to the recent revelation by Wikileaks, an organization that publishes government secrets provided by anonymous sources, Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) can read your Whatsapp, Signal, Telegram messages.

Yesterday WikiLeaks published more than 8,700 documents and files, codenamed “Vault 7” which allegedly are part of CIA Archives. The information hasn’t yet been confirmed by the agency itself, but if it is accurate, then CIA has developed tools to hack into your phone, smart TV, computer, and router and make them transmit information.
Devices that CIA can Hack into
According to the released documents, CIA can hack:
- iPhones (iOS)
- Android Phones (Android OS)
- Smart TVs (especially Samsung TVs)
- Linux, Windows, and Mac computers
How can CIA read my messages
Whatsapp, Signal and many other messaging apps are encrypted, which raises a question; how can CIA bypass their encryption. The answer is simple, they don’t need to break the encryption if they can get the information before it is encrypted.
The tools used by CIA can hack into the operating system of a smartphone and can access unencrypted original data. This difference was clarified by Edward Snowden, former NSA contractor and whistleblower
PSA: This incorrectly implies CIA hacked these apps / encryption. But the docs show iOS/Android are what got hacked – a much bigger problem. https://t.co/Bw9AkBpOdt
