Finally, WhatsApp has heard the cries of its user and has introduced picture-in-picture for its video calling feature.
We previously heard the rumor in July that the company is working towards introducing this new feature where the user will be able to minimize the video call window without pausing or breaking the network connection.
This new feature will also allow the users to respond to text messages or carry out other functions on their handsets while they are on a video call with someone. This update is not a ground breaking discovery as many messaging apps already provide this feature.
According to the Android Police, the feature has made its way to the WhatsApp’s stable channel meaning people with the latest updated mobile app can access it.
Apart from making video calling easy, the popular messaging app has also introduced self-destructing text statuses in addition to the images status feature that was launched earlier this year.
The text only status can also include a URL or link previews, meaning yes, now you can share your favorite cat video with all of your WhatsApp buddies.
Recently, the company also introduced verified accounts which will feature a green tick that would indicate that the company has confirmed that the number belongs to a business account.
