Windows 10 based smartphone ‘HP Elite x3’ arrives next month for $699

HP Elite x3 release date

HP is about to release its Windows-based smartphone Elite x3 next month. The device performs three roles at the same time. You can use it as a smartphone, a laptop, or even as a desktop computer. You might be thinking how this could be possible. Well, HP Elite x3 uses the Microsoft Continuum, a service that transforms the small-scale layout into a Windows desktop environment when connected to a monitor and the HP Elite X3 Desk Dock.

HP has officially announced that the new HP Elite x3 will be released on August 29 at a cost of $699. The display size of this device will be 5.96 with the resolution of 1440×2560 pixels. Like all the modern smartphones, the Elite x3 will use a Qualcomm chip, i.e., the Snapdragon 820, which is the latest and most cutting-edge blazing fast processor, suitable for connectivity, graphics, photography, power and battery efficiency.

The internal storage of this device would be 64GB. Under the hood, you will get a 4GB RAM. 16 MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash is perfect for capturing the amazing photos. For selfies, the device features an 8MP front camera, which is more than enough as most of the newer devices are coming with just 5MP front cameras. Don’t worry about how all these amazing features would work, because the HP Elite x3 comes with a large 4150 mAh powerful and stable battery.

HP Elite x3 – A Windows-based device!

Microsoft’s latest Windows 10 operating system has a smoother and user-friendly interface and the layout is beautiful especially the Start Menu and the home screen. In Windows 10, there are a lot of options for different features available to the user. The company has added the most recent version of its personal digital Artificial Intelligence (AI) software, Cortana. The web browsing experience is also enhanced with the modern web browser, Microsoft Edge.

Despite the availability of all these state-of-the-art services in the Windows 10, this operating system is still failed to get much popularity among the smartphone users. People are not in much need of a smartphone that runs on a Windows OS. The main reason behind the popularity of Android and iOS is the tons of apps and games available on the Play Store and App Store. On the other hand, Windows Store does not feature a lot of apps.

Some of the most popular apps including SnapChat, Mozilla Firefox, and Gmail are not available to the users of Windows 10 Mobile. Let’s see if HP Elite x3 gets a healthy place in the smartphone market and gains the attention of the Android and iOS lovers.

Lenovo has also recently launched its Windows 10 smartphone, but it is only available in Japan.
