August 2017 is turning out as a major month in terms of new releases. Just a day ago we have seen the unveiling of the HMD Global’s flagship smartphone Nokia 8 and while we are waiting for the Samsung Note 8 which will be launched on 23rd August, Xiaomi is releasing Redmi Note 5A.
The smartphone company has officially confirmed this news on its Weibo Channel (Chinese social media site) that Redmi Note 5A will make its debut on 21st August, just two days before Samsung’s big Unpacked event.
Just like other smartphones by Xiaomi, Redmi Note 5A will not leave a dent in the pockets of the users and will be a budget friendly device.
According to TENAA, the Chinese certification site, the smartphone will come in two variants; one will support fingerprint scanner while the other not possess this feature.
The Redmi Note 5A will feature a 5.5-inch HD display, Android 7.1.1 with MIUI 9 on top, 2GB / 3GB of RAM and 16GB / 32GB of internal storage depending on the variant.
The smartphone will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor whereas the Prime/Pro variant is expected to feature Snapdragon 435 processor.
Redmi Note 5A will also offer a 16MP rear and a 13MP front camera along with a powerful 3000mAh battery.
