Redmi Note 5

Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone company has finally launched its much-anticipated devices, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro. Redmi Note 4, the predecessor of the smartphone was one of the best-selling smartphones in the mid-range segment last year and we can hope the company would repeat the magic this year again with its new devices.

Redmi Note 5

The standard Redmi Note 5 offers an edge-to-edge display and is a major upgrade from the last year’s device. The smartphone looks just like Redmi Note 5 Pro from the front but their similarities end there.

Unlike its elder sibling, the smartphone doesn’t have dual cameras at the back and it supports last year’s chipset i.e. Snapdragon 625. On the bright side, the user has the option for 3GB or 4GB RAM just like Redmi Note 4. Following are the different specs of the smartphone:

  • Display: 5.99 inches
  • Screen Resolution: 2160×1080 pixels
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 625
  • RAM: 3GB or 4GB RAM
  • Internal Storage:
  • Rear Camera: 12MP
  • Front Camera: 5MP
  • Battery: 4000mAh
  • Price: ₹9,999 (Rs. 17,255) onwards *prices may vary due to taxes and currency exchange rate

Redmi Note 5 Pro

Redmi Note 5 Pro is the most powerful of the two devices featuring a premium metal unibody design. It features a large 5.99 HD screen with very slim bezels. Instead of capacitative buttons, the company has opted for on-screen navigation buttons to provide the 18:9 screen aspect ratio.

Following are the specifications of the device:

  • Display: 5.99 inches
  • Screen Resolution: 1080 x 2160 pixels
  • Processor: Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636
  • RAM:4GB or 6GB
  • Internal Storage: 64GB
  • Rear Camera: 12MP + 5MP
  • Front Camera: 20MP
  • Battery: 4000mAh

Initially, the company has launched its devices in India but we hope to see them soon in the Pakistani market as well.
