Xiaomi Mi6 has been launched at an event in China and it is excepted Xiaomi will launch two other phones today. For now, we focus on the Xiaomi Mi6 which has impressed everyone with the inclusion of the latest processor.
Qualcomm faced criticism from many smartphone brands as it was not able to cater to the demand of many vendors forcing major companies like LG to release its flagship without the latest chip. The Snapdragon debuted with the release of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ and Xiaomi is the second brand to have captured the premium chipset’s supply.
Mi6 packs the Adreno 540 GPU which is also present in the Galaxy S8 but it differs from the Samsung flagship in terms of memory with a huge 6GB RAM. It has a 5.15 display while the four-sided 3D glass does not compare that well alongside Samsung’s infinite display, the dual camera on the Mi6 is bound to challenge the Galaxy S8’s 12MP camera.
The fingerprint sensor has been embedded inside the screen. The rear camera has a 12MP wide angle and a 12MP telephoto lens. Mi6 has introduced the depth of field feature in its cameras which is similar to the one inside the iPhone 7 and also compares to the Bokeh effect in premium Huawei phone like Mate 9.
Mi 6 is splash resistant and will come in a silver color in addition to the blue version it has been advertising. Another feature the Dual Wifi has also been introduced with the release of Mi6 that will increase the range and speed of WiFi.
Xiaomi Mi6 has a 3550 mAh battery which will provide up to two days of backup with mixed usage.
Mi6 has two variants, the one with a 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage will cost around $356 and the other with the same RAM but 128GB internal storage will be priced at around $418.
