Xiaomi Mi 8 comparison with iPhone 8 Plus and Galaxy S9+

What do we look for in a flagship smartphone? High-quality specs and a price that does not require common people to start selling their body organs. It is very hard to see these two features in the upcoming devices as they cost an arm and length but thankfully Xiaomi Mi 8 is here to change the narrative.

Recently, the Chinese company introduced its new flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi 8 in the Pakistani market and we cannot stop ourselves from having a complete fangirl moment.

The smartphone was first launched in June in the global market and it is quite a relief that Xiaomi has not taken too long to bring its flagship device in Pakistan. Upon its arrival, we get to see the company’s pricing which made us wonder, is it still in the league of other premium smartphones?

Xiami Mi 8 is a large phablet which comes with all the specs that we have come to expect from any flagship device. The 6GB RAM and the latest Snapdragon 845 makes it a powerful beast and we don’t need to be disappointed about 64GB of internal storage as it can always be expanded via MicroSD card.

The dual 12MP camera at the back and a 20MP selfie camera are welcoming features for photography lovers and pleasantly, all of these features are available for Rs. 64,999.

If we look at the other popular smartphones including Galaxy S9 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus, both of them are priced above Rs. 100,000, so did Xiaomi Mi 8 just beat these devices at specs and prices, let’s dissect further to find out:

iPhone, a device associated with the status symbol in Pakistan is also looking to be a hard match for Xiaomi Mi 8. The iPhone 8 Plus which was released last year in September features a comparatively smaller 5.5 inches screen and comes with 3GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage with a price tag of Rs. 106,800.

We cannot argue that the Apple’s RAM size is not much of an issue as its devices are always well optimized and never causes any glitch during the use. iPhone 8 Plus is also powered by a strong A11 Bionic processor and just like Galaxy S9+ and Xiaomu Mi 8, it comes with dual 12MP rear cameras.

If we look at the specs of the Xioami Mi 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, we see no reason to not buy the latter and save ourselves a lot of money.
