Punjab Lands Record Authority has launched a mobile application to provide easy access to the registration details of the land records in the province.
The app is built in accordance with the prime minister’s vision of digitizing Pakistan where the users will be able to get the details of their land, and registration records all in the comfort of their homes.
To further facilitate the users, the property tax calculator has also been integrated into this android app. Moreover, the government also announced to update the details of registration and transfer fees on a timely basis.
With the inception of this app, not only the residents of Punjab but the overseas Pakistanis will be able to get first-hand information regarding their property without any hassle.

While going through the app, it seems that the app was launched in haste as it has many bugs and is not stable at all. One can check the comments in the review section of the app which will give a correct picture of hiccups users are experiencing. Authority should look into resolving these issues as soon as possible to facilitate the maximum users.
Going through the registration or transfer of any land in Pakistan is a much cumbersome and complicated process whereas in the world it is considerably simple, all due to the application of modern means and technology. It is commendable that the Punjab government is proceeding in the right direction, however, multiple reforms are needed in the land record department before digitizing the whole process.
